Single Rider Lines At Disneyland: One Way To Cut Your Time In Line

If you're looking to cut your wait time at Disneyland, one option to spend less time in line is to utilize the Single Rider Line. I love using the Single Rider Line for rides; they can really increase the number of attractions you can ride during your day.

A very limited number of attractions offer this extra perk, but we have them all listed below! We also have where to find each line entrance as some of them can be tricky.

What is a Single Rider Line?

Most rides are built for parties of 4 or 6. However, that means sometimes there is one seat available in a ride vehicle that would unused. The Single Rider Line is a way to fill those extra seats with guests who don't mind riding with strangers.

How do I use the Single Rider Line?

The process is pretty simple: if a ride has a posted Single Rider Line, just get in the designated Single Rider Line. This might seem like common sense, but I just want to reiterate that getting in the Single Rider Line at Disneyland means you are okay riding alone with strangers in your vehicle. While your whole family can get in the single-rider line, you will not be able to ride together.

Disney says the following about Single Rider Lines:

Know Before You Go
Immediate boarding or choice of seat is not guaranteed.
Single Riders must meet all boarding requirements.
Special seating requests may not be accommodated.
Participating attractions and wait times may vary.
This service is subject to availability."

Remember that guests must be seven years or older to ride an attraction alone, so everyone in the Single Rider line must be at least seven years old.

It is not unheard of for an attraction to close the Single Rider Line if the attraction is especially busy, so make sure you have some flexibility in your plan if you plan to use this option.

How Long Are Single Rider Lines At Disneyland?

Single Rider Lines tend to be anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. With an average of around 20 minutes.

  • Single Rider at WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure

Where Can I Enter the Single Rider Lines At Disneyland?

While most of the Single Rider Lines are now at the normal ride entrance, a few are in a different location like the ride exit. We have all of them listed below, so you have to spend less time hunting for them in the parks.

Single Rider at Matterhorn Bobsleds

The Single Rider line for the Matterhorn is located on the Fantasy Land side of the mountain. This Single Rider Line can move much slower than others as you will likely only be seated after a group of 5. However, it will usually be significantly shorter than the standby line. Since this attraction almost has its entire line in the sun, anything to cut down wait times on this attraction can be. a good thing!

Single Rider at Splash Mountain

This one is a little trickier to find if you don't know where you are looking. Keep walking well past the rest of the queue. You want to keep walking until the area dead ends. Then as you turn left, go to the exit of the ride. This is where you will line up for this ride.

This single rider usually has a very small wait as most people like the shared experience of going with others and posing for a photo at the end. However, if you are traveling alone or this is a ride only one person wants to ride, it is a great way to check this attraction off your list.

Single Rider at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

This one is easy to spot, just go up to the regular attraction entrance and hang left for the Single Rider Line. One thing to consider for this ride is that you will always be the last person in your flight crew; you will likely always be the engineer. So if your dream is to pilot the Falcon, I recommend using Genie+.

Single Rider at Grizzly River Run

Like Splash Mountain, this entrance is through the exit. Since half of the fun of this ride is watching your family getting splashed with that unexpected wave of water, the line is generally very short. If you are traveling alone or the only one in your parting wanting to get wet this is a great attraction to use the Single Rider Line option.

Single Rider at Incredicoaster

This line is also through the exit, but you will be shuffled through an elevator to the loading platform. This line can move slower as you only will be pulled when they have an odd number of people and they can't find a party of 3 or 5 to fill the spots. If it is too far into the promenade, you might be better off waiting and riding when the standby time is reasonable or use Genie+.

Single Rider at Goofy's Sky School

This ride is easy to find. Head to the main entrance and look for the sign that says Single Rider Line.

Single Rider at Radiator Springs Racers

The Single Rider Line entrance is one of the options from the main queue entrance. So just head to the ride as normal and head under the sign that says Single Rider. This is an attraction that you can save a ton of time by doing as a single rider.

Single Rider at WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure

This ride is easy to find. Head to the main entrance and look for the sign that says Single Rider Line.
